SINGAPORE, SEPT 9 – Singapore is increasing security checks at all land, air and sea checkpoints from September 9 to 14.
Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) announced that it will implement enhanced security checks on travelers and vehicles arriving at land, air and sea checkpoints following the heightened security situation in the region.
“Travellers should expect delays at checkpoints due to enhanced checks and take into account additional time for immigration,” the ICA said in a post on its official Facebook page.
The agency, however, did not elaborate on the reasons behind the security measures. Pope Francis is scheduled to visit Singapore from September 11 to 13 for the last leg of his tour of the Asia Pacific. – Named
