Kostic won the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022, but then pushed for his move to Juventus. In the past seasons 2022/2023 and 2023/2024, Kostic played 66 games in Serie A. In the current season, however, the Serbian international has not yet played a single minute under the new coach Thiago Motta.

At Fenerbahçe, Kostic, who also played for VfB Stuttgart and Hamburger SV in the Bundesliga before his time in Frankfurt, trains under Portuguese coach José Mourinho. The 61-year-old successful coach was hired for the current season after leaving AS Roma early in the previous season.
