Two people were injured in a fire in a room in a retirement home in Berlin-Grunewald. One person was rescued via the stairwell and taken to hospital, the fire department said. The other injured person was brought to safety by turntable ladder and treated on site as an outpatient. The fire on the second floor of the five-story building was reported in the afternoon. The operation with 53 firefighters was completed in the early evening.
