Because he apparently used their super hit “Seven Nation Army” without permission, the US rock band The White Stripes is now taking legal action against the Republican US presidential candidate Donald Trump. Singer Jack White (49) published a picture of the lawsuit on Instagram. Accordingly, the lawsuit in New York is also directed against Trump’s spokeswoman Margo Martin.
The singer is thus serious about what he threatened to do on Instagram at the end of August. On Instagram, he also shared a video of Martin, which she had shared on the platform X. In the now-deleted clip, Donald Trump can be seen boarding a plane. White wrote: “Don’t even think about using my music.” He also announced a lawsuit there. White accompanied the post with the famous guitar riff of the band’s hit.
Trump repeatedly causes outrage with his use of well-known pop hits. In August, singer Céline Dion (56) announced that she did not want the former US president to use her music for his election campaign. Playing the song “My heart will go on” at a rally in the US state of Montana was in no way approved, she explained on X. “Really, that song?”
