The Potsdam Christmas market “Blauer Lichterglanz” will no longer take place on Brandenburger Strasse, but on Bassinplatz. This is the preferred location of 47.8 percent of the approximately 7,000 Potsdam residents who took part in an online survey on the ongoing dispute. This means that there is a preliminary decision on the location of the market in Advent 2026. The market had come under criticism, among other things, for its spatial constraints, with crowds of visitors pushing their way through Brandenburger Strasse.
