England’s star striker Harry Kane crowned his anniversary match with a brace. In his 100th international match for the Three Lions, the professional from German football record champions Bayern Munich scored both goals (57th, 76th) in the 2-0 (0-0) win in the Nations League against Finland. The player celebrating his anniversary scored his 67th and 68th international goals in golden shoes at Wembley Stadium and to great applause from the fans.

Kane is the tenth England international to reach the 100-cap mark. The 31-year-old has a good chance of breaking former goalkeeper Peter Shilton’s record of 125 appearances for the England national team.
Before kick-off, England’s record goalscorer was presented with a golden cap by Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole, who are also members of England’s 100 club, for his anniversary match. His two daughters were allowed onto the pitch with him, wearing England shirts with the number “100” and the name “Daddy”.
Hradecky and VAR prevent earlier Kane goal
Kane had already headed the ball into the goal in the first half, but the linesman’s offside decision withstood a check by the video referee. Shortly before his first goal with a powerful shot from around 15 meters, his overhead kick was stopped by Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky. The Bayern professional had no trouble scoring his second goal from eleven meters.
Kane also ensured that interim coach Lee Carsley’s home debut was a success. After two games of the Nations League season, the European runners-up have six points in Group 2 in League B, just like Greece, who won 2-0 in Ireland. Before the match at Wembley Stadium, a memorial was paid to the Swede Sven-Göran Eriksson, who died in August and was England’s national coach from 2001 to 2006.
Hungary disappoints
In Germany’s Group 3, Hungary disappointed with a 0-0 draw at home against outsiders Bosnia-Herzegovina. The Hungarians, who lost 5-0 to the German team in their opening match last Saturday, are currently bottom of Group 3.
