280 children study at the primary school on Humboldtring. 125 have a migration background and come from eight different nations. Many children are from Ukraine. Most of these girls and boys do not speak a word of German when they come to their new school. Some are traumatized by the war. For six years, children with special needs have been cared for in a temporary learning group. Since August 1st, there has been a second learning group due to the high demand. This is made possible by the Start-up opportunities program.
