The cycling talents Antonia Niedermaier and Ricarda Bauernfeind are staying with the German Tour winner team Canyon-Sram. The two highly talented riders extended their contracts until the end of 2025. The duo had started their professional careers with the team together in 2022. The Leipzig-based team surprisingly won the Tour de France in mid-August with the Pole Katarzyna Niewiadoma.
The 21-year-old Niedermaier won silver in the U23 time trial at the European Championships on Wednesday and was sixth overall in the Tour of Italy this year. She will be competing in the Road World Championships in Zurich at the end of the month.
After finishing sixth overall in the Tour of Spain in early May, Bauernfeind’s season was dominated by knee problems that forced her to take a long break. She will not compete in any more races this year.
