The Füchse Berlin have prematurely extended the contract with backcourt player Lasse Andersson until 2027. The Berlin team announced this on Sunday. “I am incredibly happy that he has decided to stay with us. He is one of the most important leaders in the team and a pillar of our club. Not just in terms of sport, but also humanly. He is someone who leads the way,” said sports director Stefan Kretzschmar.

The Danish Olympic champion’s contract would have expired at the end of this season. “I’m very happy to be staying in Berlin for another two years. I can play at the highest level here. I see great potential in this team in the coming years. Everyone at the Füchse wants to be better,” said the 30-year-old.

Andersson moved from FC Barcelona to the Spree in 2020 and has developed into an absolute top performer for the Füchse in recent years. “Lasse is largely responsible for the positive development of our club in recent years. And I also believe that his best years are still ahead of him,” said Kretzschmar.
