Former world champion Mats Hummels still has to wait for his debut in the jersey of the traditional Italian football club AS Roma. In the bitter 1:1 (1:0) away match against CFC Genoa, the defender sat on the bench for the entire game. Hummels moved to Rome on a free transfer at the beginning of September after his contract with Borussia Dortmund expired.

Hummels could have helped in the final phase when Genoa equalized in injury time through Koni de Winter. At that point, however, the substitution quota had already been exhausted. The opening goal for coach Daniele de Rossi’s team was scored by Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk (37′).

Manu Koné played the full 90 minutes in Roma’s midfield. The 30-year-old moved from Borussia Mönchengladbach to the Italian capital this summer for around 20 million euros.
