Two children were injured in traffic accidents in Berlin on Saturday, police announced on Sunday.

According to the report, a nine-year-old boy was found in SpandauHe was injured in the Hakenfelde district when he suddenly stepped onto the road at the bus stop on the corner of Goltzstrasse and Rauchstrasse without paying attention to the traffic. When a 73-year-old driver noticed the nine-year-old, he is said to have made an emergency stop. Rescue workers took the boy, accompanied by his father, to a hospital. He remained there for inpatient treatment with suspected traumatic brain injury.

Another nine-year-old was Neu-Hohenschönhausen injured, who was riding his bike with his mother at the corner of Wartenberger Strasse and Arnimstrasse. According to witnesses, the boy suddenly rode off the sidewalk onto the road at the pedestrian crossing. The boy’s mother is said to have loudly ordered him to stop beforehand.

The boy collided with the car of a 58-year-old driver who allegedly slammed on the brakes. The nine-year-old fell onto the road and suffered abrasions on his arm.
