After racist slogans to the party hit “Love always” At the Oktoberfest in Neuenhagen (Märkisch-Oderland), the criminal police are investigating on suspicion of incitement. Videos show that a group of around 30 to 35 male and female youths were singing along, a spokesman for the Strausberg police told the German Press Agency. The “RBB” had previously reported.
According to reports, the incident occurred late Saturday evening in the area of an outdoor stage in front of the festival tents. Although the police were on site, the racist comments were not initially reported to the officers, the spokesman said. In the night from Saturday to Sunday, a person then filed a complaint online.
A visitor told RBB that she saw the Hitler salute twice in the crowd after the song. This was not visible on the videos, said the police spokesman.
Media report: DJs have heard nothing
According to the media report, two DJs were playing at the time. Both told RBB that they had not heard any of the racist chants. Apparently they had agreed beforehand not to play the song. One of the DJs said he spontaneously decided to play the song after all.
