They are still only a few centimeters high and consist of one, two or three leaves: what will one day become stately mulberry trees are still delicate seedlings in plastic cups. They are part of a special exhibition in the Huguenot Museum on Gendarmenmarkt, in which students from the Humboldt University (HU) and the Berlin University of Technology (BHT) use collages, writings up to 300 years old and a video installation to show what connects the plants with the city’s history.
