The rapper, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, 54, was arrested at a hotel in Manhattan, here, on charges of sex trafficking and abuse by the FBI yesterday.
According to reports Daily News, his lawyer, Marc Agnifilo said to AFPCombs moved to New York last week in anticipation of facing the charges, but the details of the case are unclear at this time.
The New York Times reported arrests were made following a grand jury indictment.
The rapper became a target after several civil lawsuits were brought against him by describing Combs as an individual who practiced violent sex, using alcohol and drugs to subdue his victims. Then his house was raided by federal agents, this year.
A massive raid on his home in March suggests that a possible criminal case against Combs is on the rise.
Armed agents entering his luxury properties in Miami and Los Angeles also marked the downfall of this influential music figure.
His legal team said Combs cooperated to clear his name in court last Monday.
The singer known by nicknames like Puff Daddy and P Diddy is known as a figure in the hip hop music industry who was once just a street musician and has been successful in the beverage business for decades.
However, despite his efforts to project the image of a party king and businessman, several legal actions were taken describing Combs as a violent man and using his influence to attract women.
