According to a recent poll, the AfD is leading with 28 percent and a lead of 3 points over the SPD under Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke with 25 percent. Woidke has reiterated in recent days that he will no longer be available for the office of Prime Minister even if the right-wing extremists win by a narrow margin.
