Diapers instead of Winnetou: Hamburg singer and actor Alexander Klaws (41) is concentrating on everyday life with his family after the Karl May Games in Bad Segeberg. “Lion has been in the world for almost a month now and we’ve already settled in quite well,” Klaws told the German Press Agency in Hamburg. He is particularly looking forward to the next vacation in Portugal, when the family of five will finally have time for themselves. The Westphalian native and his wife Nadja Scheiwiller are parents of three boys.
The older children are currently causing more sleepless nights: “They are the ones causing the most trouble at the moment. The little one sleeps really well, he got that from me.” He can basically sleep anywhere, anytime. “I really have a trained resistance when someone makes noise at night. I still sleep like a baby. I think you could tear the house down around me.” He has trained himself to do this over the past 20 years in show business. “Whether on the plane, on the tour bus, … – I lie down in the corner and sleep.”
Klaws became known in 2003 as the winner of the first season of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” (DSDS) on RTL. Since then, he has taken on many roles, especially on musical stages, including Tarzan, Alfred from “Dance of the Vampires” and Sam in “Ghost”. In 2025, he will become Tarzan again and swing from vine to vine for 15 guest performances in Stuttgart.
