Country star deletes Taylor Swift, Kanye West post, apologizes to fans

OOLOGAH, Oklahoma — Musician Zach Bryan said sorry to fans online after making a post saying Kanye West was better than Taylor Swift.

“For the record guys I wasn’t coming for Taylor the other night,” the country singer said on his Instagram story. “I was drunkenly comparing two records, and it came out wrong.”

Bryan posted about Swift and West on social media platform X saying “Eagles > chiefs,” followed by, “Kanye > Taylor,” adding, “Who’s with me?”

Swift is famously dating Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce. There has also been an ongoing feud between West and Swift since the rapper rushed the stage after Swift was awarded best female video at the MTV Video Music Awards for “You Belong With Me” in 2009. He infamously told her that he would let her finish, “but Beyonce had the best video of all time.”

Bryan has since deleted the post and deactivated his account on X.

“Twitter gets me in trouble too much and I’d say it’s best I stay off it,” he said. “I’m sorry to any Taylor fans I pissed off or let down. Love you guys and I’m trying my best!”

Bryan said he hoped to “one day explain” his comments to Swift.

“I respect her so much as a musician that the last thing I want is people thinking I don’t appreciate and love what she has done for music.”
