CDU’s final campaign spurt in Brandenburg

The CDU is ending its state election campaign in Brandenburg today. Federal leader Friedrich Merz will appear together with top candidate Jan Redmann in Potsdam (3:30 p.m.). Also in the afternoon (2:00 p.m.), Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (SPD) will be in Frankfurt (Oder) to find out about the current flood situation.

While the AfD is campaigning again in Senftenberg (5 p.m.) with its MEP Maximilian Krah, a rally is taking place in Potsdam (2 p.m.) until late in the evening under the motto “Stay stable – against the AfD and the shift to the right”. This will be accompanied by concerts by bands such as Madsen and Sportfreunde Stiller.

The SPD, Greens and Left Party had already concluded their election campaign on Friday, the FDP on Thursday. The Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) officially concluded its election campaign on Wednesday in Potsdam in the presence of the party’s founder and namesake.

According to the last poll before the election, it will be a close race between the SPD and the AfD on Sunday: In the ZDF Politbarometer Extra published on Thursday, the AfD is only just ahead of the SPD with 28 percent, just ahead of the SPD with 27 percent. Prime Minister Woidke has so far governed with a coalition of the SPD, CDU and Greens.
