CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns kicked off the ball to the Giants to start Sunday’s game, and they took a 7-0 lead after just 11 seconds.
The kickoff team started the game by forcing the first Browns takeaway of the season thanks to Tony Brown II’s hit on Giants returner Eric Gray.
Grant Delpit emerged with the football, giving them possession at the Giants’ 24-yard line.
Right after the fumble recovery, Deshaun Watson connected with Amari Cooper along the sideline for a touchdown, giving the Browns a 7-0 lead after just 11 seconds. You can see the touchdown at the top of this post.
It’s Watson’s second touchdown pass of the young season. For Cooper, not only is it his first TD catch of 2024, but it’s also just his sixth catch. He came into the game with five catches for 27 yards.
The Browns kickoff unit almost got a fumble a week ago in Jacksonville. However, an illegal formation penalty against kicker Dustin Hopkins negated the takeaway.
