Australian pop icon: Kylie Minogue goes on a big world tour

Australia’s pop icon Kylie Minogue (56) is going on a world tour next year – the biggest in more than ten years. “We’re starting in Australia and that’s great,” she revealed on Australian broadcaster ABC’s breakfast television. “We’ve been working on it for months and I’m glad we can finally share the news with everyone.” The tour is set to start in Perth in mid-February.

Other stops after Australia include Bangkok, Tokyo and Manila, followed by several concerts in Great Britain. Germany is not on the list yet. However, more dates will be announced soon, said Minogue. “I love touring.”

New album after only one year

Minogue, the most successful singer in her home country with more than 80 million records sold, is riding a new wave of success more than 35 years after the start of her music career – thanks to her 16th studio album “Tension”, released last year and featuring the Grammy-winning hit “Padam Padam”.

The first single from the new album “Tension II” will be released next weekend: “Lights. Camera. Action. That’s it!!!” The singer recently shared a taste of the dance-pop song on X.

The entire album will be available in stores from October 18. “I think we were really on a roll,” said Minogue, referring to “Tension II.” “As is often the case with albums, we just had more and more songs.” Minogue, who is also known as an actress, presented her first album, “Kylie,” in 1988. She has been appearing in her first Las Vegas show since November 2023.
