AKRON, Ohio — Police are searching for a man who robbed a dollar store at gunpoint during the weekend.
Police say the robbery occurred at about 9:17 p.m. Saturday at the Family Dollar at 1750 S. Main St. in the Firestone Park neighborhood. Workers tell police the suspect approached the counter armed with a handgun and demanded cash.
The suspect left with an unspecified amount of money and also took the clerk’s cellphone. He reportedly was seen running east on Palmetto Avenue. The suspect was wearing all-black clothing, sunglasses and a black hat.
