BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SEPT 24 – The efforts of the Ministry of Education of Brunei Darussalam to advance the transformation that focuses on the development of digital talents as well as the coordination of the education system with global trends were shared by the Permanent Secretary (Higher Education), Ministry of Education, Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad in his keynote speech during Asia Pacific Digital Talent Summit 2024 which took place in Nanning, People’s Republic of China yesterday.
Based on the theme Commitment to Youth Empowerment for the FutureDr Haji Azman highlighted the key efforts by the education sector that support the Brunei Digital Economy Master Plan 2025 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which aim to create a skilled workforce as well as foster leadership in the digital economy.
He also emphasized the importance of fostering cooperation and knowledge exchange in the Asia Pacific region through the sharing of best practices, innovative solutions and lessons learned that can accelerate progress in the region.
In addition, he commented, the establishment of an active platform for collaboration between academic institutions, industry partners and governments across the region will not only enhance digital capabilities but also ensure collective efforts in developing a digitally skilled workforce that can drive sustainable growth in the region.
The conference was organized by the Huawei company in collaboration with the ASEAN Foundation and SEAMEO where it marked the beginning of an initiative that brought together more than 140 selected youth from the region for a week-long visit to China to increase knowledge about the country, digital learning and technology. main today.
The conference also brought together policy makers, industry leaders and academics to celebrate the participants and emphasize the importance of developing young talent to unlock the digital potential in the region.
Dr Haji Azman was accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Education and the Brunei University of Technology while participating in the conference.
