WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Great Bend Police Department said police presence at Great Bend Middle School has been stepped up due to threats involving several students.
Chief Steve Haulmark says the threats were discovered last night and could involve three students. He says the department’s investigation has revealed that the threat was made with malicious intent to disrupt the school day and prevent students from attending class, and the department determined that the threat was not credible.
Haulmark added that the students involved would be taken into custody and asked the community to refrain from spreading misinformation as the investigation continues.
