Notice of the closure of some gas stations

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 26 SEPT – Several petrol stations in three districts are scheduled to be temporarily closed for inspection and research work on measuring devices, i.e. fuel pumps for October 2024.

The Weights and Measures Unit (SDT), Industry and Business Ecosystem Division (IBE) under the Ministry of Finance and Economy in a statement issued here, states that it will carry out inspection and research of accuracy readings on oil pump type measuring devices in gas stations.

According to SDT, the measure is in line with the Weights and Measures Act 1983 Chapter 151, where an accuracy reading check, valid and registered with the SDT Unit is required for the use of weights and measures for trade purposes.

Taking into account the safety and well-being of the public as well as the workers involved throughout the inspection and investigation work, the gas stations will be closed from 9 am until completion, with an estimated working time of around 2 hours.

The inspection and research on the gas stations is a routine inspection that is conducted three times a year.

In relation to that, the schedule for the temporary closure of petrol stations for inspection and accuracy reading work in October 2024 from 9 am to 11 am is for the Brunei Muara District on October 3 at the Melayu Business and Enterprise Cooperative Oil Station, Kampung Menglait ; October 5 at Bebatik Petrol Station, Kampung Bebatik; October 7 at Masjory Petrol Station, Kampung Sengkurong; October 8 at the Teluk Mewah Mentiri Cooperative Oil Station, Kampung Mentiri; October 9 at Mahbohai Petrol Station, Mabohai Village; and October 10 at Kampung Buang Sakar Petrol Station, Kampung Buang Sakar.

For the Tutong District, the closure is on October 22 at the Kampung Lubok Pulau Association Cooperative Petrol Station (KOPEKLAP) With Tanggungan Berhad, Kampung Lubok Pulau and October 23 at the Telisai Sdn Bhd Petrol Station, Kampung Telisai and for the Belait District it is on October 24 at the Station SEPAKAT Cooperative Oil, Kuala Belait.
