KOTA KINABALU, SEPT 27 – A high school student was found drowned while bathing with 19 of his schoolmates in a lake near Menggatal Residence today.
The Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia’s Sabah State Operations Center in a statement today informed that Hazwi Danial A Rashid, 14, was found by the fire brigade at 2:48 this afternoon at the bottom of the lake at a depth of about 3 meters.
According to the statement, the fire brigade that arrived at the scene at 12:51 in the afternoon found that another student, Adi Iskandar Abdullah, 14, had also drowned but was rescued and given CPR by another of their friends.
“Firefighters carried out a search and rescue operation on the edge and surface of the lake before finding the victim at a depth of about 3 meters.
“The victim was later confirmed dead by Ministry of Health personnel who were at the scene of the incident before being handed over to the police for further action,” he said. – Named
