Storm Track 3 Forecast: Sunny stretch, temperature rollercoaster this week

Toasty temperatures today across the Sunflower State. Northwest Kansas reached the 90s this afternoon while areas in southcentral Kansas saw more cloud cover today and only warmed into the mid-80s.

Storm Track 3 Forecast: Sunny stretch, temperature rollercoaster this week

We will all cool off tonight with mostly clear skies. Temperatures fall into the 50s by sunrise with winds becoming northwesterly for most.

Tomorrow will be another above-average day. Temperatures will sit in the 80s again with abundant sunshine and light winds.

Temperature whiplash will kick in at the start of the workweek. A cold front will track through the state late on Monday, ahead of this boundary our air will compress and heat up. Temperatures will crash behind this boundary, falling into the 70s by Tuesday.

This front will come through dry, cloud cover will increase slightly Monday night into Tuesday before northerly winds bring dry and cool air into the state.

Temperatures will not hold in the 70s for long. We will rebound quickly under sunny skies with highs back into the upper 80s by Thursday.

Rain chances will be pitiful for the next week into the weekend. We will have to hope to see better chances for moisture as we continue into October.
