BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SEPT 30 – More than 600 students and teachers from four schools of the Brunei Malay Teachers’ Federation (PGGMB) participated in the Sports Festival at the Berakas Sports Complex recently.
The party was officiated by a member of the National Assembly, the Honorable Dr Awang Haji Mahali bin Haji Momin as the guest of honor.
Also participating in the event were 60 students from the Disabled Children’s Association (KACA) and PGGMB President, Haji Awang Abd Alim bin Haji Awang Othman, and members of the PGGMB Supreme Committee.
Earlier, the school’s Headmaster, Haji Roslan bin Haji Md Hassan in his welcome speech stated the active participation of all students with sportsmanship to improve their abilities in the field of sports and leisure starting from an early age.
He said, “This opportunity can fill the students’ free time while improving their mental and physical health. In addition, through sports can also strengthen the relationship between the school and the students’ parents and families.”
A total of 10 sports and leisure events are contested according to class level starting from Class PRA 1 to Year 6, which this year’s event is organized by Sekolah Tunas Jaya PGGMB Lambak.
Among the activities that interest the students are Erasing Upper and Lower Letters by Color, Finding Picture Cards Based on Spelling Cards, Finding Correct Answer Cards, Collecting Candies Using a Spoon and Putting Candies in Bottles.
All activities require the efficiency and speed of the students to run, while the VIP category contested is Dart Board Target Game and Lava Walk which is accompanied by the head teachers of the school.
