BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SEPT 30 – In conjunction with the 10th anniversary celebration of the opening of the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque (SSBRPAD), Kampung Manggis, Madang, a donation ceremony from the Brunei Islamic Bank Darussalam (BIBD) for the Interior Decoration Project among members The SSBRPAD Mosque Maintenance Committee (AJKT) was held today.
Present to hand over the donation was the Chief Executive Officer of BIBD, Awang Junaidi bin Masri to the Chief Imam of the Mosque, Awang Nuzli bin Haji Jumat.
Also present to witness the donation ceremony was the Advisor to the Masjid Improvement Committee, His Excellency Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong.
The donation is expected to be able to implement the Interior Decoration Project which is expected to be completed within three months.
The initiative to implement the interior decoration project of the mosque was started in 2019, but the project was delayed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic and will be carried out again in 2023 as one of the programs in conjunction with the mosque’s 10th anniversary celebration this year.
The project is an effort to decorate all four walls in the mosque and the front entrance of the mosque with verses from the Quran, Asmaul Husna and zikr sentences.
The design of the frame that decorates the verses of the Quran, Asmaul Husna and the words of remembrance is a combination of motifs of flowers and mangosteens, madang flowers, simpur flowers, groom’s jewelry which is pending, bride’s jewelry which is serbang and motifs that are ready to be used in the mosque which has been blended so neatly to showcase a design that is not only beautiful and attractive but unique and distinctive which makes it special and superior specifically for the mosque.
The project, which is expected to cost $226,250, is expected to be completed within three months and will be implemented by Yayasan Restu Malaysia.
In conjunction with the establishment of the mosque, several religious programs ranging from running and leisure, cleanliness and landscaping have been planned in conjunction with the 10th celebration of the mosque’s opening, including the publication of a special book and the Mosque Interior Decoration Project.
