Over 60 audit reviews of GISBH, the company

PUTRAJAYA, 30 SEPT – The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) has conducted more than 60 audits against GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH), companies and individuals related to it, for previous assessment years.

IRB in a statement today informed that all of them have been subject to compound action and tax penalties for the audited assessment year.

“The tax compound and penalty imposed has been paid by the taxpayer.

“Monitoring of tax compliance of GISBH, companies and related individuals is carried out continuously like other taxpayers. No special treatment is given to those taxpayers,” according to the statement.

According to the IRB, based on the statement of the Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain regarding GISBH never paying taxes, this is in reference to the latest Assessment Year (TT) which is being investigated by his side in collaboration with the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).

According to the IRB, the collaboration with PDRM is aimed at completing the investigation based on new information and findings related to the taxation issue for the latest TT.

“Prosecution actions and penalties under the Income Tax Act (ACP) 1967 will be taken against any violation of the relevant legal provisions,” he said.

The IRB informs that efforts to combat tax non-compliance will continue to be made by its side in order to provide justice to all compliant taxpayers thus avoiding leakage of national revenue. – Named
