CLEVELAND, Ohio — José Ramírez and Emmanuel Clase are among five Guardians players nominated for All-MLB Team honors as announced Monday by Major League Baseball.
The recognition goes to the best players at each position as voted by fans and a panel of media members, former players, and baseball officials each year since 2019. Online fan voting is open now through Oct. 11. Winners will be revealed on MLB Network on Nov. 14.
Josh Naylor, Andrés Giménez and Cade Smith joined Ramírez and Clase as Cleveland nominees at their respective positions.
Ramírez led all major league third basemen with 39 home runs, 118 RBI, 41 steals, a .279 batting average and an .872 OPS.
Clase’s 47 saves ranked second in the majors and established new single-season and career records for a Cleveland reliever.
Naylor’s 108 RBI led all major league first basemen, and his 31 home runs were a career high.
Giménez was two steals shy of tying his career best. His 20 defensive runs saved rank second in MLB in 2024.
Smith struck out 103 batters in his rookie season, tied for third most MLB relievers. He led the majors with a 5.6% inherited runners scored rate.Ramírez has been named to the second team twice (2020, 2023). Clase was also named to the second team in 2023.
Shane Bieber (2020) and Clase (2022) are the only Cleveland players to receive first-team honors since the awards were established five years ago.
All-MLB Team rosters consists of one catcher, one infielder at each of four positions, three outfielders regardless of position, one designated hitter, five starting pitchers, and two relief pitchers.
Shohei Ohtani has been named to the first team four times and to the second team twice, earning multiple recognitions as both a DH and pitcher in 2021 and 2022. Freddie Freeman has been named to either the first or second team each season the award has existed.
