Ops Kabat detained 13 foreigners

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 1 OCT – A total of 13 foreign nationals were arrested and brought to the Law Enforcement Division for further investigation during Operation Kabat 104/2024, recently.

The operation targeted rental rooms in Mukim Berakas and Mukim Kianggih, where a total of 23 foreign nationals were checked.

According to a statement issued by the National Immigration and Registration Department (JIPK), five of the foreign nationals in question are believed to have committed an offense under Regulation 15(2), Immigration Regulation, Chapter 17, namely working not with the original employer and also an offense under Chapter 15(1 ), Immigration Act, Chapter 17 i.e. overstaying in the country after the immigration pass has expired.

Two of them are believed to have committed an offense under Regulation 9(4), Immigration Regulation, Chapter 17 for the offense of working on a visit pass.

Meanwhile, one of them is believed to have committed an offense under Chapter 15(1), Immigration Act, Chapter 17 for overstaying in the country after his immigration pass expired.

Meanwhile, another five individuals failed to state the original document and are believed to have committed an offense under Chapter 15(1), Immigration Act, Chapter 17 as well as an offense under Regulation 15(2), Immigration Regulation, Chapter 17.
