Akron Zoo to host Boo at the Zoo trick-or-treating events this month

AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zoo’s family friendly Halloween celebration returns this month with the promise of no tricks and all treats, according to the event website.

Boo at the Zoo runs on weekends from Oct. 12 through Oct. 27. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes and bring a treat bag for the event, which features a dozen themed treat stations around the zoo. Allergen-friendly options are also available.

The dates are Oct. 12-13, Oct. 19-20 and Oct. 26-27. Boo at the Zoo hours are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Ticket sales close at 6 p.m. each day.

Tickets range from $15-$22 for trick-or-treaters. Tickets for Akron Zoo member observers are free and tickets for non-member observers range from $12-19. Admission is free for children under age 2 who are not trick-or-treating (no ticket required). Purchase tickets online.

Zoothing Boo at the Zoo

The zoo will open an hour early on Oct. 26 for trick-or-treaters of different abilities who don’t like crowds or loud noises. This hour, Zoothing Boo, is scheduled from 10-11 a.m. Purchase Zoothing Boo tickets online.

The zoo is also offering Boo at the Zoo merchandise on its website.

The event is sponsored by Acme Fresh Market.

Also of note, Akron Zoo’s Halloween Brew at the Zoo, a beer and wine tasting event, is Oct. 5 from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
