BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 2 OCT – With the noble goal of producing potential movers of the Nation of Zikir, the Ministry of Education under the Spiritual Activities Division, Department of Co-Curriculum Education held a Zikir Recitation and Greeting Recitation Competition for National Primary and Secondary Schools Year 2024 Final Stage yesterday.
Present as guest of honor to witness the final competition taking place at the Conference Hall, Center for Islamic Preaching (PDI) was the Acting Director of PDI, Ministry of Religious Affairs (KHEU), Haji Ahmad Abdussalam bin Haji Abd Rahman who completed the presentation of prizes to the winners at end of event.
The competition is divided into two categories namely Qiraat Zikir which is for the male category which is participated by four teams from primary school level and four teams from secondary school level; while Qiraat Selawat for the girls’ category which was also participated by four teams from the primary school level and four teams from the secondary school level.
The champion of the Qiraat Zikir competition at the primary school level is the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arab School Team, followed by the Sungai Akar Al-Falaah School Team in second place and the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation School Team in third place.
While the Qiraat Selawat competition for the primary school level was won by the Katok B Primary School Team of the An Nayla Group in first place; followed by the Brunei Mahad Islam Team in second place and the Al-Falaah Sungai Akar School Team in third place.
While for the high school level, the champion of the Qiraat Zikir competition is the Sayyidina Hasan Middle School Team; followed by the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arab School Team in second place and the Brunei Mahad Islam Team in third place.
As for the Qiraat Selawat competition at the high school level, the winner in first place was the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls’ Arabic Religious School Team Group 1 followed by the second place won by the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls’ Arabic Religious School Team Group 2 and Team Sayyidina Husain Secondary School in third place.
Through the competition, it is hoped to unearth and highlight the existing talent of students to learn and master dhikr and salawat-selawat and apply the rhythm that suits it.
