Edmonton weather: A windswept weekend gusting up to 50 km/h

A look at Friday’s Edmonton Weather from Environment Canada.

It’s 7 C at the Edmonton Blatchford weather station with 13 km/h winds out of the northwest.

Well, there’s good news and bad news for the weekend forecast. The good news is, it’s going to be dry, and fairly sunny for the majority of the next few days. The bad news is that, if you go outside to enjoy said sunshine, you might get blown all the way to Oz by the intense winds predicted for the next few days.

Friday will be a mix of sun and clouds, with winds climbing up to 40 km/h by the afternoon. Those winds will persist overnight, climbing up to 50 km/h with a 30 per cent chance of showers after midnight. The winds will fluctuate between 40 km/h and 50 km/h on Saturday, calming as the day progresses, with a high of 15 C.
