Stop hallucinating about 2027, Doguwa tells Kwankwaso

House of Representatives member, Alhassan Doguwa, has hit back at former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, for his criticisms of the All Progressives Congress government.

Doguwa dismissed Kwankwaso’s assertion that Nigerians will reject the APC in 2027, calling it a “mere hallucination.”

Kwankwaso, speaking in Kano on Thursday while receiving defectors from the APC to the New Nigeria People’s Party, claimed that Nigerians, particularly those in the North, would not tolerate the APC beyond 2027, emphasising their discontent with the current administration.

“Nigerians are tired and cannot endure beyond 2027,” Kwankwaso remarked.

In response, Doguwa, Chair of the Northern Regional Caucus of the 10th House of Representatives, accused Kwankwaso of still reeling from his 2023 presidential defeat to President Bola Tinubu.

Doguwa asserted that the APC-led government is working hard to transform Nigeria for the better, adding that Kwankwaso should prepare for political retirement.

“At a political gathering on Thursday, my colleague Kwankwaso took his hallucination to the moon when he said Nigerians are tired of the APC and will change it in 2027.

“As we all know, President Bola Tinubu is not leaving any stone unturned in his quest to return our country to the path of progress and prosperity for the benefit of all,” Doguwa said in a statement on Friday.

He further criticised the NNPP for its “non-performance” in Kano, declaring that the APC is ready to reclaim the state in the next elections.

Doguwa also highlighted Tinubu’s achievements, including attracting over $30 billion in foreign direct investments, reducing the country’s debt service ratio, and combating insecurity in the North West.

“A fresh air is already permeating the North West given the onslaught against these bandits. Our people are now returning to their farms,” he added, praising Tinubu’s administration for its efforts in restoring peace and rebuilding the region.
