The Strait of Hormuz has returned to the forefront of events again, with the escalation of direct military tensions between Israel and Iran. Tehran’s firing of about 200 missiles towards Israeli territory, in addition to Tel Aviv’s threat of a harsh response, has entered the region into a new phase of instability, as the major countries are following with concern the developments of this situation. The escalation and its potential negative impact on the movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz and thus on global energy markets.
