It has been documented in psychological studies that repeating lies eventually results in some people’s acceptance of these lies as the truth. This “illusory truth effect” can be reinforced in printed media by using large fonts and all capitals, or by presenting the lie as a rhyme.
It’s very alarming that our brains can confuse us with such a twist–turning of a blatant lie into the truth (for some people). This phenomenon (repeating lies) was used to great effect by the Nazis, who recognized it as a powerful weapon in exciting and drawing a large part of the German citizenry into their fold. It behooves us who have the ability to think rationally to do so. Check your sources.
