CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Guardians and Tigers now know the complete schedule with first pitch times for all five games in the American League Division Series that gets underway Saturday at Progressive Field.
Major League Baseball announced the times for Game 3 at Comerica Park on Wednesday as well as potential times for Game 4 in Detroit and Game 5 in Cleveland, if necessary.
The Guardians and Tigers will play the earliest of four division series games Wednesday. That start time could be 3:08 p.m. or 4:08 p.m. depending on whether or not the National League Division Series between the Dodgers and Padres extends beyond three games.
If Dodgers-Padres extends to a fourth game, then Guardians-Tigers Game 3 will start at 3:08 p.m. on Oct. 8. If there is a sweep in the NLDS between Los Angeles and San Diego, then the Guardians and Tigers will start Game 3 moves up to a 4:08 p.m. start time.
A potential Game 4 between Detroit and Cleveland could start at 6:08 p.m. on Oct. 9 at Comerica Park. If the Yankees-Royals series ends in three games, then Game 4 between the Guardians and Tigers will take place at 8:08 p.m.
Game 5 would take place Oct. 12 if necessary in Cleveland. That game could start at 6:08 p.m. If the Yankees-Royals series ends in four games, then Game 5 between the Guardians and Tigers will take place at 8:08 p.m.
