CLEVELAND, Ohio – Aurora defeated Tallmadge, 45-14, in a Suburban Conference American division game at Veterans Stadium on Friday night.
Aurora quarterback Ryan Dwyer completed 9 of 13 passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns and Lucas Manderbach scored twice in the first quarter as the Greenmen overwhelmed Tallmadge in the first half to led 38-0 at the break.
The Aurora defense held Tallmadge to six first downs for the game. Tallmadge gained 21 yards rushing on 22 attempts.
The Greenmen opened the scoring on Dwyer’s 40-yard touchdown pass to Quincy John. Manderbach scored on runs of 38 and 6 as Aurora led 21-0 after the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Ben Lukas caught a 10-yard touchdown pass and Tommy Tartabini rushed for a 1-yard score.
Tallmadge scored with 1:54 left in the third quarter when Ryan Loveless threw a touchdown pass to Robbie Reid. Loveless also connected with Caleb Reifsnyder for fourth quarter touchdown.
Aurora’s Xavier Board closed out the scoring with 46-yard touchdown run.
Aurora (7-0, 4-0), ranked 12th in this week’s cleveland.com Top 25, will visit Kent Roosevelt and Tallmadge (4-3, 2-2) will host Cuyahoga Falls on Oct. 11.
