WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said police in Harper located a dog belonging to David Reese, a man who has been missing since August.
The KBI said Reese’s chocolate labrador had accompanied him since he disappeared, and it was found in good health. She was returned to Reese’s family.
The dog was found not far from where Reese was last seen, near Little Mule and Hardtner Shortcut in Barber County. Police searched over 50 square miles again but still did not locate Reese or his truck.
Reese, 73, was reported missing to the Harper Police Department and a silver alert was issued on Aug. 3. He was last seen on Aug. 1, but later a sighting was reported placing him near Little Mule and Hardtner Shortcut in Barber County.
Law enforcement has conducted multiple searches to find David, who was believed to be driving a white 2017 Chevy Silverado bearing Kansas tag 885 NEW.
Reese is a white male who is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs around 250 pounds. He has brown eyes, a white beard, and is balding. He was likely wearing a baseball cap. Reese has diabetes, anxiety, and a condition impairing cognition and memory.
