BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, OCT 8 – The BN on the Move 2024 tournament organized by the Ministry of Health drew its curtain with the closing ceremony and prize-giving event for the winners at Dewan Al-‘Afiah, Ministry of Health today.
Present as the guest of honor at the ceremony and completing the presentation of prizes to the winners was the Minister of Health, the Honorable Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad lsham bin Haji Jaafar.
The tournament which started from May 20 to September 20 was divided into 4 categories namely Government, Higher Education Institutions, Private Sector and Public and was successfully implemented through encouraging support and participation.
The tournament is another proactive measure by the Ministry of Health that aims to improve healthy and active lifestyles among the people while also encouraging the use of the BruHealth application to be competitive in doing physical activities through the calculation of the number of steps taken each day in each team and category.
Since it was first launched, a total of 31,393 participants have competed and more than 10 billion steps have been achieved. The total number of participants for the Government category was 10,875 participants and the Higher Education Institution category was 4,293, while the Private category was 1,349 participants and the Public category was 4,876 participants.
At the ceremony, the Ministry of Health was announced as the winner of the Government With the Most Participants category, followed by the Ministry of Education and third place was won by the Ministry of Defense.
The champion for the Most Active Government category with the highest average number of steps was won by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, runner-up by the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications while third place was won by the Ministry of Finance and Economy.
The champion for the Higher Education Institution With the Most Participants category was won by the Brunei Institute of Technical Education (IBTE), runner-up by Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and third place by Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB).
While the Most Active Higher Education Institution category was won by International Graduate Studies College, followed by Seri Begawan University College of Religion (KUPUSB) and third place by Cosmopolitan College of Trade and Technology.
Next, the Private category with the most participants was won by Brunei Shell Oil Company (BSP), followed by Baiduri Bank Group and AlA Brunei. While the Most Active Private category was won by Darussalam Assets, followed by National Digital Payments Network (NDPX) and Brunei Investment Agency (BlA).
The group LOLLYPOP was announced as the winner of the Public category. While the Seri Perwira 2024 group got second place and the PTES Seri Setia group got third place. Each brought home a cash prize.
The ceremony also saw Darussalam Assets emerge as the winner of the Best of the Best category among the Government category, Private category, Higher Education Institution category with a total average number of steps of 1,059, 139. and took home the round trophy.
Consolation prizes were also awarded to team representatives in the categories of Government, Higher Education Institutions and top 20 Private companies. 10 participants have won a lucky draw prize open to participants who have achieved at least 4,000 steps every day throughout the BN On The Move 2024 tournament. Additionally, there will be more lucky draw winners to be announced after the event.
According to another statement, more than 400 BN On The Move 2024 Championship shirts have been sold, of which a portion of the sale is donated to the Patient Relief Fund (TABP).
The Ministry of Health would like to express its appreciation and thanks to the companies that contributed to some of the prizes to make the BN on the Move 2024 Championship a success.
