Wichita man who robbed 6 pharmacies of hydrocodone sentenced

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A Wichita man who robbed six area pharmacies has been sentenced to prison, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.

The DA’s office says 42-year-old Steven Stone was sentenced to 122 months in prison with 36 months post-release.

All six robberies happened between 2021 and 2022 at Walgreens across Wichita. The six stores impacted were 21st and Maize (robbed twice), 1555 S. Broadway, Central and West (robbed twice), and 13th and Waco. During several of the robberies, Stone took hydrocodone pills. He also threatened to start shooting in a note.

The DA says pharmacy cameras and video from neighboring businesses were used to track Stone. Police used cell tower information to track his phone, and he was taken into custody at his home in the 1800 block of N. Shefford Circle.
