Neat Ops: Six companies fined

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, OCT 9 – Six companies were fined compounds during Operation Kemas conducted by the Planning Authority, Town and Country Planning Department (JPBD) yesterday.

According to a statement issued by the JPBD, all those companies have been charged a compound fine for a first time offense for violating the Town and Country Planning (Composition of Offences) Regulations, 2018, amounting to $250 each.

The mistakes made are using the parking lot area as a place to store goods for sale and also a place to repair vehicles which has resulted in a lack of parking lots for use by the public who visit the area.

In addition, the use of a parking lot as a place to repair vehicles can invite danger to the public including the employees of the company as a result of the traffic being affected and the condition of the area being slippery and dirty from the activity.

The companies concerned have been given a period of seven days from the date the compound was issued to settle the fine.

The Planning Authority through the JPBD, the Ministry of Development reminds the public, business owners and enterprises to comply with planning laws by obtaining Planning Permission for every development and land use because a violation of acts and regulations can pose a safety risk to the public and affect the image country.

For any further queries, the public can contact the line hotline JPBD at 8200222.
