Miscarriage. Postpartum. Menopause.
These are experiences so many women go through that historically have been taboo topics. But that’s changing. As a testament, October is Menopause Awareness Month.
After having my baby, I realized I had more in common with women going through menopause than not. In fact, laughing, coughing, sneezing had me worried, too!
But I was ready for this.I’d spent years listening to the women in my life talk about their experiences going through postpartum and menopause.
These insights led me on the path to develop a brand that embraces everything that comes with being a woman –including leaks. And after years of product development, we designed a super chic, disposable brief for leaks — for chasing kids and running miles.
We built our community on Instagram and Facebook to break taboos and subvert stereotypes, and collaborated with creators including Courtney Ottrix of Courtney Covers Cleveland and local Cleveland company Quimby Digital to create Reels showing real women wearing briefs during menopause or after kids.
We created a space where women feel empowered during a time of life that is often ignored.
This Menopause Awareness Month, I encourage you to embrace these conversations. Break the silence around your shared experiences.
For me, opening the conversation didn’t just lead to the creation of a stigma-smashing brand. It helped me feel more connected and empowered in my own experiences as a woman.
