I found a number of items missing in the Oct. 6 Plain Dealer article on possible expansion of nuclear power in Ohio (”Could the Buckeye State go nuclear?”).
First, the article does not report any opinion on the topic from people in the Ohio environmental community. Have they all drunk the Kool Aid, too?
Second, there is no mention of the issue of nuclear waste. This is the problem that took out the nuclear industry in the past, and as far as I can tell, there has been no breakthrough on what to do with waste that can be a hazard for thousands of years.
The Plain Dealer needs to provide more perspectives on this topic.
