Japan’s General Election: Security measures tightened

TOKYO, OCT 11 – The head of Japan’s National Police Agency (NPA) has ordered officers across the country to carefully protect important figures during the upcoming general election, local media reported.

NPA Commissioner General Yasuhiro Tsuyuki made the request in a meeting with top regional police officers at the agency in Tokyo, reported Jiji Press.

Elections for the Dewan Rakyat, the lower house of parliament, will be held on October 27. – Xinhua
