China continues to strengthen space Internet infrastructure

XICHANG, OCT 11 – China yesterday launched a new high-orbit Internet service satellite into space from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in the country’s southwestern province of Sichuan.

The satellite was launched at 9:50 pm (Beijing Time) using a Long March-3B carrier rocket and then entered a predetermined orbit. It is the third satellite in a group of high-orbit satellites for Internet transmission.

The launch was the 538th mission in the Long March carrier rocket series, according to the launch center. – Xinhua
