Fearing God is the key to obtaining blessed sustenance

By Salawati Haji Yahya –

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, OCT 11 – The pleasure of blessings will be felt more and more when they are used for good and used for the path that is pleasing to God and without the blessing of abundant sustenance even humans will not feel enough and satisfied.

To achieve sustenance and reward in life, a person must strive to work hard and earnestly, in addition to having knowledge and skills appropriate to the field of work.

In addition, a person must also not give up easily by getting back up if hit by failure or a test and what is important, whatever field of work is engaged in whether serving the government, private sector, business, workers and so on must be ensured that the sustenance found is true – is halal and does not deviate from the principles of Shariah law.

Khatib affirmed the matter while delivering today’s Friday sermon, titled The Key to Opening the Door of Prosperity and went on to emphasize that whether or not sustenance is received is not measured by quantity alone, but what is important is the blessing.

“Trying to find a halal sustenance is required by syarak, but there are some of us who feel anxious because we don’t get enough sustenance for life’s needs, even though we have tried hard,” explained the preacher.

Outwardly, the preacher explained, the key to obtaining ample sustenance and blessings is also closely related to how a servant has a relationship with God.

“We are commanded not only to eat halal and good sustenance, but also to maintain a relationship with God with constant obedience, obedience and servitude,” he stressed.

The preacher in the sermon then shared a guide to obtain ample sustenance and blessings as outlined in the Al-Quran and the hadith of His Majesty the Prophet SAW, among which is piety to God, which is by obeying all the commands and abandoning what He forbids.

“Those who are pious are promised by God with an abundance of sustenance, even God grants a way out of all hardships,” he shared.

In addition, repent and apologize, that is, repent to leave the sin and feel regret after committing it and resolve not to repeat it again.
He said again, “In the Al-Quran it is mentioned that repentance and forgiveness are among the reasons for the expansion of sustenance.”

In addition, bertawakal means surrendering to God and holding fast to Him. If a person really trusts in God with the belief that God does everything and there is no one who provides sustenance but God and no one has the power to prevent but God as well as working hard, sustenance will be showered on him just as sustenance is showered on birds.

Khatib went on to add, connecting relationships is also one of the reasons for expanding sustenance, in addition to increasing almsgiving, because almsgiving is a miraculous practice in which the more you give alms, the more Allah will increase your sustenance, but the giving of alms should be with the intention of God.

The sustenance obtained, the preacher emphasized, belongs to God and God, the All-Merciful and All-Compassionate, is the only one who has the right to bestow sustenance on everyone He wants.

“What is important in finding sustenance is correcting the intention of working for God and to meet the needs of oneself and those who are under responsibility and to be used in a way that is pleasing to God,” he added.

The preacher in the sermon went on to emphasize that we are forbidden to blame fate if the desired sustenance has not yet been obtained, even though we have prayed a lot and practiced.

This is because, emphasized the preacher, there are times when God does not grant something that is asked for but he grants something that is needed.

“We must believe that each of us has a different form of sustenance, only God knows the wisdom and reason behind each gift,” he stressed.

In this regard, the preacher called to pray together that we may all be blessed with sufficient sustenance and blessings, strengthen our determination and trust while striving without giving up to be among the servants who are always grateful and relieved for every gift and His gift.
