BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 11 OCT – Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) has recently contributed $17,751.15 for the reconstruction of houses affected by fire in Kampung Setia B.
The donation is one of BIBD’s Initiatives that reflects its commitment to support communities in need as well as strengthen the bank’s core values as Bruneian at Heart.
The donation was officially handed over by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman to Penghulu Mukim Zone 2 of Kampong Ayer, Awang Raimi bin Rashid.
The financial assistance will help cover the cost of essential building materials, allowing affected residents to rebuild their homes and restore their lives.
BIBD’s efforts are also in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, particularly the first goal of No Poverty, by helping to ensure that individuals and families affected by the fire are supported in their recovery process; the second goal of Sustainable Cities and Communities, by contributing to the redevelopment of housing and infrastructure that supports a safe and resilient living environment; and Partnership for Goals, by working with government to provide support to affected communities and demonstrate partnership in addressing pressing local needs.
