The Georgia Bulldogs (4-2, 2-1 SEC) arrive hungry after a 31-13 victory over Auburn. Their lone loss was to Alabama in an instant classic a few weeks ago.

Senior quarterback Carson Beck continues to put up strong numbers, tallying 1,359 yards and 12 touchdowns with three interceptions. He is completing 65.8% of his passes and has the 15th-highest QBR in the nation at 81.7.

After early struggles, Georgia’s run game, spearheaded by junior Trevor Etienne, is headed in the right direction. He has notched 300 yards and three touchdowns on 52 carries. Freshman back Nate Frazier has tallied 151 yards with one touchdown on 27 carries.

They will have a chance to extend that confidence against a shaky run defense that ranks No. 121 in the country.

The Bulldogs strength flows through their myriads of pass catchers. Senior receiver Arian Smith has hauled in 18 receptions for a team-high 278 yards and two touchdowns. He averages 15.4 yards per reception.

Senior Dominic Lovett has 22 receptions for 252 yards and two touchdowns while junior Dillon Bell has snagged 18 receptions for 216 yards and three touchdowns.

Georgia’s imposing defense is guided by junior defensive back Malaki Starks, who has 14 solo tackles and one interception.

The Bulldogs defense continues to underperform in the turnover margins. They have forced six fumbles, but secured just two. Georgia has a pair of interceptions in five games.

Georgia has the longest active home winning streak (27 games) in the country.

Coming off a much-needed bye week, the Mississippi State Bulldogs (1-4, 0-2) come in seeking to replicate Vanderbilt’s chaos from a week ago. Their lone win comes against Eastern Kentucky, and they have one of the worst power five losses in the country in a 41-17 stunner against Toledo at home earlier this season.

The Bulldogs have played a brutal opening slate, including losses to Texas and Florida. Another tall task is on tap for first-year head coach Jeff Lebby on Saturday.

Mississippi State’s offense is scoring 27.4 points per game, which is the second-worst mark in the SEC. They are 12th in the conference in yards per game at 380.2.

After making his first start against Texas, football life doesn’t get any easier for freshman quarterback Michael Van Buren. He threw for 144 yards against the Longhorns.

His top target, junior Kevin Coleman Jr., has racked up 28 receptions for 344 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 12.3 yards per reception.

Mississippi State’s run game has struggled against imposing defenses. Look for more of the same in this matchup. They average just 3.5 yards per carry, which ranks last in the SEC.

Senior Davon Booth has notched 54 carries for 192 yards and two touchdowns. Junior Johnnie Daniels has tallied 47 carries for 233 yards and one touchdown. Freshman Mario Craver has impressed with nine receptions for 238 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 26.4 yards per reception.

The defense has struggled considerably to keep teams out of the red zone this season. Georgia running backs have racked up 37 touchdowns in the red zone since 2023, the most in the FBS in that span.

They are last in the conference in explosive plays allowed and rushing yards allowed per game. The unit has found itself staring up at a lopsided scoreboard most of its season.

Mississippi State has lost its last six SEC matchups, which is the fourth-longest conference streak across the nation.

Georgia holds the all-time edge in the series, 20-6.
